Being in a long-distance relationship often means dry episodes and phases of unfilled needs.
Whether or not a long-distance relationship will work for you has a lot to do with your needs.
Our partner can give us so much when he is around: safety, security, warmth, support, acceptance, intimacy, empathy, trust, inspiration…
If your needs can be met by someone or something else, or if you can do without fulfilling them for a while, you have a good chance to make long-distance work.
But the important question is, can your partner too?
Some needs can be met by ourselves.
Some needs can be fulfilled by friends.
If both of you are committed to the long- distance relationship and both of you get some of your needs met somewhere else, it can work. But that does not mean it will be easy.
To get through hard times I made you a video with 5 tips for long distance relationships.
